PADI IDC Prep Course
At Sipadan Scuba we have been conducting PADI instructor training since 1999 and none of our IDC candidates has ever failed the PADI IE.
Key to this 100% success rate is preparation. To ensure our candidates' success we offer a free 1-week IDC Prep course  that is optional but strongly recommended. After all you'll be spending a considerable amount of money on you instructor development and we want to make sure your investment doesn't end up in disappointment. This is especially true if you took your PADI Divemaster course a long time ago or if you are crossing over from another organization to become a PADI instructor. In both cases you may find the dive theory exams and skill demonstrations quite challenging. Having to catch up during the actual IDC often results in task loading and a higher degree of stress. Depending on your time schedule some of the prep study can be done prior to arrival but ideally would be conducted by one of our experienced IDC Staff Instructors.
The following will typically be covered during your IDC prep course:
5 Dive Theory Topics: physics, physiology, equipment, skills and environment, decompression theory & the RDP
Practice of general dive skills typically assigned during skill circuit of the PADI IE
Practice of Rescue Diver skills including mouth-to-mouth and mouth-to-pocket mask ventilation
Swimming with mask, snorkel & fins over a distance of 800m
Having mastered your dive theory knowledge and dive skills beforehand you'll find the Instructor Development Course to be fun and easy. You may even apply some of the skills towards a Specialty Instructor course after your IDC.
