PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor
Are you looking to do something extraordinary? To do something others can only dream of? Would you like to change your career and work on a tropical paradise island? As a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor the door opens to an entirely new life style.
The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) Course at Sipadan Scuba is a 6-day program designed to prepare qualified candidates to become PADI Instructors. The OWSI course is the second part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) following the Assistant Instructor (AI) course. Combining the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the OWSI program in to a continuous program makes up the entire IDC. The OWSI program must be completed before attending the PADI Instructor Examination (IE) that is being conducted by PADI.
Instructors from other scuba organizations may cross over to PADI by successfully completing the OWSI program and the IE.
Prior to the OWSI program we offer a free 1-week PADI IDC Prep Course that is optional but highly recommended. Your preparation, organization and dedication are key to success. Please contact our course director Jerry Reichart for a customized course schedule based on your professional goals, experience, level of dive knowledge, time restraints, etc.
Entry requirements include:
Be certified as a PADI Divemaster, PADI Assistant Instructor or instructor with another training organization
Have your own PADI IDC crewpak at the start of the course
Be at least 18 years old
Submit a "Fit to Dive" statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months
Be certified as an Emergency First Response Instructor
Be certified as a diver for at least six months with 60 logged dives (100 dives prior to IE)
Upon completion of the OWSI program you'll receive authorization from our course director to attend the PADI Instructor Examination (IE). Click here for our current PADI IDC Schedule
